Lapworth Museum of Geology
University of Birmingham
On Friday 10th June the Lapworth Museum of Geology at the University of Birmingham reopened after an extensive redevelopment programme, revolutionising the collection to ensure its preservation for future generations.
Working with the University of Birmingham, designers Real Studios and through coordination and management of specialist sub-contractors The Hub, in the role of Principal Contractor has provided refurbishment to historical showcases, conservation grade display cases, bespoke lighting, AV hardware and created specialist structures including a Rock Wall in the Mineral Gallery.
The Hub also implemented visual and interactive displays to create opportunities for learning and engagement as the visitor explores dinosaurs, fossils, evolution, volcanoes, earthquakes and changes in the environment.
The video below shows the scale of work undertaken on the project in elements such as reinstalling the Allosaurus in the Evolution of Life gallery.
